Meet Dr. David Greenfield, Ph.D.
Dr. David Greenfield is creator and primary clinician at The Healing Center, LLC and former partner of Psychological Health Associates, LLC, and is founder of The Center for Internet and Technology Addiction (virtual-addiction.com). He is a psychologist, author, and internationally recognized expert on Internet and technology addictions. His work integrates psychological treatments with cutting edge and complementary treatment approaches. Dr. Dave (as some people refer to him) is know n for his direct approach, along with his candor and warmth in relating to his patients. His works might been likened to a “velvet sledgehammer” tough and soft at the appropriate times.
Dr. Greenfield’s research, writing, and clinical work on Cyber psychology, technology and behavior, and Internet addiction has appeared on CNN, ABC News, CBS News, Fox News Channel, and Good Morning America, and the Today Show. His work has also been featured in U.S. News and World Report, Business Week, The New York Times, The LA Times, Newsweek, People Magazine., and The Boston Post, and many other national publications. He is recognized as one of the world’s leading authorities on Internet use and abuse, and is author of Virtual Addiction as well as several professional articles and book chapters on Internet and computer psychology and the impact of technology on human behavior. Dr. Greenfield lectures around the world on topics of addiction, sex, and computer/Internet addiction, and the impact of technology on our lives.
Dr. Greenfield is a fellow and past-president of the Connecticut Psychological Association, and is Assistant Clinical Professor in Psychiatry at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
